I can feel an annual tradition forming, and it goes by the name of the Oasis Zoo Run, a 5 or 10 kilometre race through the zoo. Like a maniac I opted for the longer option, which turned into a battle of perseverance as the thermometer surpassed 30 degrees. This was a stark contrast to last year when I resorted to two layers in order to combat the early morning chill. My time reflected this change as I finished in just over 56 minutes, a full minute and a half worse than the previous year.
The differing temperatures also meant a different group of animals took the chance to be active in the sweltering heat (as seen in the pictures below).
